President Trump’s economy faced a big day Wednesday, with a strong second-quarter GDP report and the Federal Reserve’s latest interest rate decision coming two days before new tariffs take effect. The Fed announced Wednesday afternoon that it would not change interest rates for now.
Trump said Wednesday he was holding firm on his Aug. 1 deadline for his global tariffs to take effect. He railed against the tariffs India is charging the U.S. early Wednesday, and later in the day slapped a 50 percent tariff on Brazil. Many countries still don’t have a trade deal. Here’s which ones.
