President Trump’s economy faced a big day Wednesday, with a strong second-quarter GDP report and the Federal Reserve’s latest interest rate decision coming two days before new tariffs take effect. The Fed announced Wednesday afternoon that it would not change interest rates for now. Chair Jerome Powell will speak at 2:30 p.m.
